Dahlia Plant Instructions Tips: SOWING TIME: February to April SOWING LOCATION: Sow the seeds thinly in a high-quality compost in pots or trays under glass at a temperature of 16°C. Cover the seeds lightly with sifted compost. NEXT STEPS: When the seedlings are large enough to handle, prick them off into trays, spacing them 5cm (2") apart. As the seedlings continue to grow, transplant them into 9cm (3.5") pots and gradually acclimate them to outdoor conditions before planting them in the final flowering location from late May onwards. Space the plants 45-60cm (18-24") apart. MATURITY: July onwards HELPFUL HINT: Regularly removing the spent flowers will encourage new growth, but take care not to damage any new buds.
